Vote For Change 22
These last two pages were meant to be broken up and paced out throughout this week, but I thought the pages look better all together. Thanks for reading, more to come!

Making a statement…but I think I hear the truck with the rebel flag down the road…

I agree with fracai, banning the act of wearing a flag would be the single most offensive against free speech. It shows pride for your country, it isn’t meant to disrespect it. Let people take it wrong, at least it gets them thinking.
I agree that it works better together as one page. I’m loving the comic so far, please continue.

I guess I crossed some line…
Well, Matt has the main point in any point.
Banning some expressive action is pretty oppressive of free speech. Some what ironic in this context, but then again this isn’t a fully public space and flobots.net can remove what ever they want.
The comic has been looking great and I keep looking forward to the next post and where this all ends up.

wow i was on earlier and saw a link to a site on this page, now its missing? did they break the terms of service on this site? or did admin just pull off their post because they disagreed with it. Seems kinda weird that this site that wants everyone to speak up their true feelings are the same to restrict us with the same powers we are fighting against. No anger here, just very confused because i am the type of person who is willing to hear the other persons side, i would hope flobots were the same.

The poster was spamming and pasting the comments and links through all the postings on every entry on the site. Our spam plugin feature probably caught it and deleted them all.
It’s one thing to say you don’t like the comic, but blatant political allegations of “corporations” controlling this site or “brainwashing the youth” are ridiculous as well and I’m just going to filter out those comments. This comic is produced by one person, ME. And inspired by and fueled by the stories of actual people who send in their stories.

yo people would think that this is a conspiracy? amazing how people think this comic is great keep at it.

i just started reading the comic today and it’s great. i love the flobots and their message. i’m glad this could potentially “wake up” people. i’ve just graduated highschool and i’m about to begin college this fall. and after fours years of listening to my peers, i can make the correct statement and say america needs “to wake.” it’s ridiculous! even older adults are ignorant. i witness it everyday at my summer job. racism, sexism, and extreme nationalism.

This really is turning into an amazing comic. I’m already a huge fan of your work, and I can’t stop reading this. Keep it up

I just read the comic for the first time - Very cool. I agree with Loran’s comment…I think I hear something >:(

Dang, why must rednecks always be the villain? What, are we all just some caricature that scares you? Do you think we’re gonna lynch someone? It ain’t right always casting us as evil.
Their music is good but their comic sucks.
“Evil corporations,” yep, because all big business just wants to flatten everything good and destroy the world, not participate in a market. Admittedly we’ve all gotten shafted by some Megacorp but not every single person that makes up the cogs in the machine is out to get you, even the machine most of the time just wants to sell you something.

The comic itself didn’t say anyone was “rednecks” It’s an accurate portrayal of the way many people actually dress. And I don’t think Rednecks are always cast as evil?? Look at the Blue Collar Comedy tour, or Dukes of Hazzard, or the upcoming Kevin Costner movie.
The characters in the story NEVER say anything accusatory of each other, even when the action is done, they just chalk it up to pesky kids, not “rednecks”– it just happens that in this story, it was a bunch of drunk assholes, with a rebel flag on their truck causing trouble. That ALSO REALLY happens, you know?
I again find it pretty fascination that the only time “racism” has been brought up here are from posters, not the comic itself. There aren’t even any other races in this story (YET)
It’s an interesting look into the mind of people who are quick to claim stereotyping. You might be inadvertently helping to feed stereotypes by making accusations of such.

so, living in Canada and having not an ounce of American blood in me, it’s going to be a bit of a trip for me to fight for “New America”. however, i’m immensely unhappy with the current Canadian government. there’s no promise for a “New Canada”, however, so i can only sit idly by and wish you all best of luck. that is, of course, unless someone knows how i can… help?
and i’d read the whole Loran-Hezbamas commenting and from an outsider point of view, i’m pretty shocked that someone could be so riled up for a violent revolution. i support the Flobots and when they come to Toronto August 14th i will ABSOLUTELY be there, however, when their message (albeit, the message i’ve interpreted from their work) is taken to such an extreme case as with Hezbamas, i just.. don’t know what to think.

@another free mind
It’s nice to see your youthful optimism. I just hope the world doesn’t crush it too soon. Good luck!

stop messing with loran.
looking back on earlier posts i’ve noticed people attacking this person. he/she has the right voice his/her opinion. the things the loran said were not offensive or even in an attacking manner. it was just an f.y.i. about flag rules. this person was a marine, someone who risked their life your ignorant speech.
and refering to the violent revolution talk. that would be a horrible idea. we would loose support very quick. we need to rely on reform. much like the civil rights movement. civil disobedience is the way to go.

I just wanted to thank Jonny5 for chiming in here and over on fight with tools. I tend to agree with his point of view. We all have different views and nothing is going to be settled overnight. The important part is, we’re here talking about these things. As I’ve said before, it’s a pretty tense climate out there right now in communities, it’s good to talk these things out instead of calling each other names.
I personally like to hear ALL stories from just about any side, you can learn a lot.

Now the determination is showing, is it from the encouragement of his son? What is motivating this man to be so blatant against the ignorants who wronged him to begin with? This could be such a longer story, and published. It’s so what “Society” needs, something to show “US” that we are such sheep, and to get us to think about that which is truly important.
