Iraq 02

Very observant on the pickup. One thing I noticed in the coverage of the first war was how many white Toyota trucks the Iraqis had.

  2. Joseph Stapleton

I dig the movement! GO EAST ANGELS!!!!

  3. Rachel

It still breaks my heart to watch and to see how going to this war changes sweet men and women into hate-filled, hurt men and women who feel that life can never and will never be the same for them again. I’ve had to see it kill the spirits of 4 who were close to me. 4 more than necessary.

Ok so far, i loved chapter 1. so far, chapter 2 looks liek its saying our soldiers whos are giving their lives every day, are over in iraq having a tea party and enjoying some good ol’ American fast food. I truly hope this isnt going to turn into a stupid anti war (thereby completely anti-america) comic. its one thing to want change and want our country to be better, but not at the expense of tearing down those who are giving of themselves everyday without question.

Justin, definitely wait and reserve judgment until we’re done. This story is an amalgamation of actual soldier stories, and isn’t going to be anti-war or anything political, it is meant to be PRO soldier. Sorry if it’s not clear to you, but the troops here are joking around. Clearly there are no burger kings where they are… but the troops still have senses of humor, if you’ve ever heard conversations from soldiers stationed there.

  6. Troy

They just need to head south to Saudi for Burger King, KFC and Pizza Hut. Just remember to stay in the male only line and don’t stare at the women. Who’s up for a road trip?

  7. Gnomination

and Troy, you know this how?

  8. PeaceFrog

Justin, that’s a bit biased don’t you think? anti war =/= anti american. keeping an open mind about everything, especially now, can help everyone.

  9. Troy

Been there and done that Gnomination.

  10. Justin

sorry guys, dont mean to be judgemental, i just wanted to be clear as to what whas in store. and no peace, i dont feel like anti-war/anit-american, i feel like anti-soldier/anti-american. Thats all. We can support our troops without supporting the cause they are having to be fighting in.

  11. Loran

I think it’s still too early to judge the soldiers by what they are saying.
Now if they start singing or break into a creative dance session then I’m going to gripe.
As an ex-Marine who served in the first Gulf War, I can tell you that I am totally believing the conversation going on here (we just used a lot more expletives in our conversations ;-) Is it me or do I sense an ambush in a page or so?
I hear John McCain’s house count is up to 7….what a “regular guy!”

Anti-War = Anti-American? What that hell? Just because I think we need to stop being the world police and going to war for oil, I’m un-American? Maybe you need to do a little research before shooting your mouth off. I love and believe in our soldiers, and because of that I don’t believe they should be sacrificed in vain. They should be paid more and be given the education and medical care they deserve. And don’t give me that crap about “we de-throned a despot”. There are plenty of those in the world, but we are sending troops where there is profit to be made. Instead of spending the ENORMOUS cost of lives and money on extending our dependence on oil, it’s in our better interest to get off of oil as soon as possible. And don’t forget we put most of these idiots in power, so now it’s time to deal with the repercussions, not start the cycle over again.

  13. ryran

    Wow David. Very well said.

  14. Paul

It was well said, but it could have been toned down a little bit. Looks like Justin explained himself a bit better and said the same basic thing, so no need to fly off the handle.

  15. ryran

Agreed. I don’t think there’s ever a need to fly off the handle.
For the record, I was focusing more on the content of David’s over-all comment; not so much on it being directed at Justin.

  16. David

Maybe I did fly off the handle, but “Anti-War = Anti-American” is one of the phrases I hate. But if Justin disputes anything I said, he’s more than welcome to say so. His 2nd comment wasn’t on the page when I posted (don’t know why).

  17. Justin

    David,

Its all good. no need to get overly upset about anything. I may have misworded my initial thoughts and words, but it appears otherwise our points are generally the same. To me being anti-war vs. being pro-war is based on the support of our troops. As far as i know, i dont know anyone thats truly logically intellegent that would be pro lets go blow things up and kill people. Its about the support of those who are giving their lives for us b/c they are told to. THey do so without question, and there for to me my description of pro-war is one which is pro-troops, vs. anti-war being anti-troops. A little wordy but i hope it makes sense.

  18. ender

wait… your telling me iraq has no burgerkings? well no F^^ing wonder there is terrorisim.Fast food, gogogo!!

oh yhea, defenetly hate the war or love it but I would never hate the ones who fight it for us.

  19. someone

wow this is deep… rock on!!!
