Great monologue. The reality is that Vietnam vets are about the only people who can effectively do PTSD counseling with these “broken men” that are coming back from Iraq. They were “broken” themselves, and had to figure it all out or perish in spirit. Some of them literally perished from it, in a haze of alcohol and drugs. It was truly sad that they didn’t have vets to talk to back then, the WW2 vets couldn’t relate as well.
Once again, hooked on the comic, sadly, this one is still in works, and I’m quite impatient! Been there, done that type of shit, once you’ve seen hell, nothing compares. The desensitizing is irreversible. They train you to take a life is nothing, but when you lose one close to you, it’s everything, and thats a fuc*** catch 22 in my book.
I just started listening to the flobots a month ro two ago and love them. I found the link ot this and head to check it out. Great comic guys, keep up the fantastic work!
Great comic. Yeah, we’re raised to be consumer jackoffs who don’t question shit. Instead of prosperity we’ve been given cheap credit. We’re bombarded with media images of affluence and material well-being and then we go into debt to chase those dreams. The SOBs in charge want us to bail out Wall Street so they can keep the credit illusion alive. If people can’t’ get credit they will be forced to live within their means and then they’ll realize how FUCKED they are. They’ll realize how much is in the hands of a few and how little is left over for everyone else. They might also start buying smaller cars and houses and start leaving their drone corporate jobs to try to maximize their true potential as human beings. How are the CEOs gonna make millions when people no longer want to rot in cubicles for the illusion of security? Nah, I’m not bitter. Go ahead and bail out Wall Street. That way the dollar can be worth even less and oil can go up, up and up. Wake up, Wake up, its the first of the month!
What has happened, has happened at a smaller scale over the last few decades. The great depression is very similar to what is happening now. Hugh credit run ups, no valid valuation of what is bought with that credit. The government, (and I mean both Democrats AND Republicans) love a credit economy because it rises abnormally fast and high. It’s like a drunken party, and there is ALWAYS a hang-over and no matter what you do, the hang-over will come. You can drink more (read: bailout) but it will STILL come sooner or later.
You made me tear up a little. It’s sad, noone tells you these kinds of things before you go, and after you get back, it takes a webcomic to finally put it all into perspective. Thanks guys. Keep it up.
