The great depression is very similar to what is happening now. Hugh credit run ups, no valid valuation of what is bought with that credit. The government, (and I mean both Democrats AND Republicans) love a credit economy because it rises abnormally fast and high. It's like a drunken party, and there is ALWAYS a hang-over and no matter what you do, the hang-over will come. You can drink more (read: bailout) but it will STILL come sooner or later. We're bombarded with media images of affluence and material well-being and then we go into debt to chase those dreams. The SOBs in charge want us to bail out Wall Street so they can keep the credit illusion alive. If people can't' get credit they will be forced to live within their means and then they'll realize how FUCKED they are. They'll realize how much is in the hands of a few and how little is left over for everyone else. They might also start buying smaller cars and houses and start leaving their drone corporate jobs to try to maximize their true potential as human beings. How are the CEOs gonna make millions when people no longer want to rot in cubicles for the illusion of security? Nah, I'm not bitter. Go ahead and bail out Wall Street.
